Auburn
Group is a small privately held and tightly focused company founded
in 1986 and specializing in organization development and customized
training for organizations that have science or technology as their
basis. There are currently eight professional consultants/trainers
acting as senior associates of Auburn Group. Most of our staff are
experienced and credentialed behavioral scientists. In addition,
we have developed a network of trusted specialists to provide support
as sub-contractors. |

use behavioral science to create focused, self-correcting organizations.
Our objectives
are to help the managers and employees of the organization remove
impediments to efficient productivity, identify and reinforce strengths,
and take care of the workforce. |

Normally,
we use a four step process to take a systematic look at the organization,
analyze the data in order to plan action (and confer with our clients
about their own ideas and involvement), take necessary action, and
then follow up to evaluate your progress. Our interventions may include
a combination of restructuring, renegotiating contracts, management
and leadership coaching and training, conflict resolution, strategic
planning, community- and team-building, role clarification and organizational
communication improvement actions, to name a few examples Auburn Group
is unique in at least four respects: |

We focus on organizations that have science or technology at their
core, with some exceptions and our intent in all cases is to leave
the organization with the skills to be totally independent.
• We are
small, agile and independent by design, and tend to reduce wasted
time in unnecessary assessments and superficial actions to a minimum.
• Every
project is assigned to one or more senior associates/partners in
the company. This means that less experienced people who are being
mentored might accompany the senior person on-site, but they are
never left with the sole responsibility of providing Auburn Group
services. This also means that there is direct access from the organizational
work site to the entire Auburn Group staff, a significant resource
in terms of experience and insight.
• We are
not associated with the producers/publishers of training books and
tapes or other proprietary products. We design or adapt training
specifically for our clients’ needs and there is never an
addition charge for the client to continue using the material on
their own within the client organization. In fact, we encourage
our clients to assign an internal person that we will train to present
the materials independent of our participation, as a standard part
of our role. |
