Training: Number One Objective=RESULTS
We sometimes find that one or more training events are a major help to client organizations. We normally custom design training, although we also have our own inventory of prepared “off-the-shelf” training courses, ranging from one day to four days, as listed below:
1. Foundations for Leadership

This is a comprehensive experiential workshop for new or aspiring leaders. The course covers the foundational skills of interpersonal communication, feedback, coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, relationship-building and motivating others; all the tools needed for credible performance as a formal or informal group or team leader are part of this “leaders’ toolkit”. (May be presented in 2 day increments.)

2. Proactive Management

Proactive Management builds on the assumption that the participants have some management responsibility in the organization and already have had basic training in leadership. The course uses case studies and small group discussion to deal with conflict, performance management, change management and open systems planning within the context of a complicated organizational environment . . . includes a review of leadership basics and selected presentation skills.

3. Training and Presentation Skills

A practical “tools and techniques” course, this is a training event that is primarily practical experience and candid feedback. Participants will assess the audience, structure and rehearse the presentation and give persuasive, informative or instructional presentations with confidence. This course is full of tips and practice in overcoming anxiety, using humor, setting objectives, using training aids. Participants may bring materials related to a real requirement in their organization and prepare their actual presentation as course work.

4. Internal Consulting Skills

This course is an experiential overview designed for internal trainers, facilitators, and managers who want to increase their skills in internal consulting. Each participant takes home effective consulting models, realistic results and limits of consulting, and his/her own aptitude towards the consulting role. We emphasize cutting-edge learning through live client/consultant simulations combined with teaching in best practices. Course includes extensive needs assessment skills.

5. Critical Thinking Skills

This is a course in creative problem solving which introduces the participants to root cause analysis, comparative data and deductive thinking. It includes techniques for getting maximum creativity out of oneself and out of a team. Participants are encouraged to bring real organizational issues to the course for practical work.

6. Change Management

This workshop uses real cases and participants’ past and present experiences to establish an intellectual foundation, to develop a set of usable tools, and to create a comprehensive plan for change in their organizations. Draws on the work of some of the greatest theorists of our time, yet focuses on the practical answers to the frequent challenges associated with major change. This is an ideal course for a management team to attend together so that they can plan an imminent change in their organization.

7. Facilitation Skills

Using listening and questioning skills to draw out group members, participants in this course will significantly increase their ability to lead group discussions that are open and participative. This course is terrific for anyone who leads a project or frequently has to work with groups.

8. Team Building and Maintenance

In many places, teams have become the fundamental unit of work, but they won’t perform at a high level without the leader and the members ALL putting energy into its process, not just its product. Participants will learn the fundamental issues involving teams and groups, with opportunities to experience the lessons firsthand. This course includes special types of teams, e.g., self-directed teams and e-teams.

9. Conflict Management Skills

This is a practical guide and set of specific techniques for use by managers and other professionals in situations in which interpersonal and intergroup conflict is limiting productivity.
10. Coaching Skills
Coaching is a buzzword, but what does it really mean? Each participant will have opportunities to assess his/her own skill levels and qualities necessary for coaching.
11. Meeting Management
This is a short, highly interactive and very practical course in how to run and/or participate in effective meetings. Very pragmatic and straightforward, this course can make an enormous difference in the amount of time spent in meetings.

*-Courses include all materials (notebooks, training manuals, etc ) and the license to duplicate all course materials for use within the client organization. All courses are designed for a maximum of 16 participants.
Please let us know if these courses will address your current needs. We would be pleased to discuss modifications of our off-the-shelf courses, in format and content, in order to save you the cost of designing instructional courses from “scratch”.
